Personal Testimony
It was strange for me to be picking up the bible at all. I had tried to read it as a child and had not understood what I was reading. I began reading it again for no apparent reason. Two weeks after I picked it up my wife would tell me the news that would knock the wind right out of me. " I'm having an affair and I am done with this relationship." I never saw it coming. It hit me hard. I was completely broken.

I began reading the Bible to comfort me. It was not working. I was still having trouble making sense of what i was reading. I decided that I had to ask for help. I prayed a sincere prayer that went something like this; " God I have asked you for many things during the course of my life. Most have been requests for selfish desires. I ask you today in my brokenness to give me the one thing I have never asked for. I am going to pray the prayer of Solomon and ask you for wisdom. I need wisdom to understand what I'm reading in your word , the Bible." It was a simple heartfelt request .

I soon picked up the Bible and began to read again, but something was different. I was seeing things I had not seen before. It was like blinders had been lifted from my eyes. I began to read and study every chance I had. I was soon studying nearly five hours a day. I would study all morning before work and come home at night and study until it was time for bed. I could not get enough. I was discovering all the incredible revelations of scripture that had been a mystery to me. It was changing my life in amazing ways.

I began listening to Christian music, watching Christian T.V. and feeding myself with as much Christian material as I could get my hands on. I soon dedicated my life to Christ. I asked him to take this broken vessel and use it for his glory. While God was transforming me from the inside, I began to do some things to begin a transformation of the outside. I began exercising and making some changes in my diet. I asked God for help in accomplishing my goals. I was soon seeing amazing changes to the outside as well. By the grace of God I had lost forty pounds in less than a year.

I am still a work in progress. I am not the man I want to be, but I hope I will soon be the man God wants me to be. I am so thankful for what I have been given and for what God continues to do in my life. He is my King and my Savior. He is worthy of all praise!

" Yet oh Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand." Isa. 64:8

Would Jesus Fly First Class?

" Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So it shall be! Amen." Rev.1:7

When the Lord comes again every eye will see Him in his full glory. Of this, we are certain. We will all recognize Him and bow before Him. But what about the first time he came ? So many did not recognize him. He was despised by men. He was counted as undesirable. He did not meet their flawed, human expectations… Continue

Stones Cry Out

Television evangelists often say it takes money to further the gospel. I strongly disagree. It takes God to further the gospel. He doesn’t need your money to do it. God has no need of anything from you and I. He has commanded us to” go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matt.28:19) Obeying God is a demonstration of our love for him. If you truly love him you, how could you keep silent? But, make no mistake, if every Christian across the globe was silenced tomorrow, the gospel would still be pr… Continue

My New Friend

If you had someone save your life...you didn't know him...he acted unselfishly, in love...how would you respond?

1. Would you want to know who he was?

2. Would you want to know his name?

3. Would you want to meet him?

4. Would you want your family to meet him?

5. Would you want your friends to meet him?

6. Would you want to thank him?

7. Would you want a friendship with him?

8. Would you tell others of his act of love?

9. Would you have an unbreakable bond with him?

10. Would it change… Continue

Son of Who?

Wow! The first nine chapters of first Chronicles are tough to get through. What can possibly be gained by reading it? ( Son of so and so, son of you know who, son of a gun, and on and on and on. ) Well, that is what I USED to think.

I have learned that much can be gained from it. In fact, I discovered in watching a Christian documentary something that rocked me to the core and bolstered my faith beyond words. If you research the meanings of the names of some of the men in the book of first Chro… Continue

Growing Up a Jehovah's Witness...(Saved By a Hair)

I believe my parents became Jehovah's Witnesses around the year I was born. They were searching for answers and began studying with the witnesses. They were searching for truth, but would not find it for another twelve years. My father would soon become a church elder in the congregation. Our family would go out every Saturday morning from door to door to give people the good news of the coming of God's earthly paradise. We did not speak of Jesus very often, as I remember it.

When I started sch… Continue

Planning for the Trip

” Planning for the Trip”

I took a vacation not to long ago. I went away for a week for some rest and relaxation. The preparation involved in a week long trip was quite time consuming. There was research to do, decisions to be made, time spent on the net making arrangements, time spent on the phone confirming the plans. I spent time shopping for some clothes that I needed for cold weather. I had to make arrangements to have my dog looked after. I spend time talking to family to let them know whe… Continue
